How to Use the Dinner Planner
This tool helps you plan your meals for the week and automatically create a shopping list so you don’t forget anything at the store.
Step 1: Add Your Meals
Click “Meal Setup” to add your recipes.
- Enter the name of your meal (example: “Spaghetti”)
- Add each ingredient you need
- Include the amount (example: “1 lb”, “2 cups”)
- Choose:
- Buy Every Time → items you need to purchase each time (like meat)
- May Have On Hand → items you might already have (like spices or milk)
You can edit or delete meals anytime.
Step 2: Plan Your Week
Go to the Weekly Planner.
- Select meals for each day
- Use “Add Another Meal” if you want multiple meals in one day
Example: You can add both lunch and dinner to the same day.
Step 3: Generate Your Shopping List
Click “Generate Shopping List”.
You’ll see two sections:
- Main Shopping List → everything you need to buy
- Items You May Have → optional items you can add if needed
Click “Add to Shopping List” next to any optional item you want included.
Step 4: Take It With You
- Use “Copy to Clipboard” to copy your list
- Paste it into your phone notes, email, or shopping app
Helpful Tips
- Use consistent names (example: always “Chicken Breast” instead of mixing variations)
- Keep amounts simple so your list stays clear
- You can reuse meals every week—no need to re-enter them
Your meals and plans are saved on your device, so they’ll still be there when you come back.
